Fernández and Fireworks Illuminate Puerto Vallarta

start...stop...
Puerto Vallarta - Alejandro Fernández, the #1 singer in Jalisco and son of legendary performer Vinciente Fernandez, wowed the town last night as part of Puerto Vallarta's 87th Anniversary celebration.

As hordes of admiring fans filled the streets, watched from roof tops and balconies, or perched on statues for a better view, dozens of pleasure craft anchored just off the beach, as everyone waited for the sounds of the music and a glimpse of this world-famous musician.

For all the people who couldn't get any closer, a huge screen was provided for a better view of the stage and everyone had a great time singing along, waving their arms and dancing with their faces filled with pride for this native born star.

After performing 4 hours of music including his greatest hits, some new songs, and some of his father's unforgettable classics, the crowd shouted for more, and the more Fernández sang, the more they wanted to hear.

Alejandro sang to the people on all sides of the stage in an almost perfect setting, and although the best seating was reserved, it was the boy seated on the seahorse statue who really had the prime spot - eye level with the charismatic performer - until he was rushed away.

After his performance, a fantastic fireworks show over Banderas Bay, complete with the biggest "Castillo" ever seen on the Malecon, illuminated the downtown scene and topped off a perfect evening in an awesome display of the people's pride in the beautiful city of Puerto Vallarta.
