November 17-20 the Club de Pesca de Puerto Vallarta A.C. will host the 50th Annual Puerto Vallarta International Sailfish and Marlin Tournament.
From November 17-20, the Puerto Vallarta Fishing Club (Club de Pesca de Puerto Vallarta A.C.) will host hundreds of anglers of all ages during the 50th annual Puerto Vallarta International Sailfish Tournament, one of the most prestigious national and international sportfishing tournaments on the West Coast.

For the past 49 years, the Puerto Vallarta International Sailfish and Marlin Tournament (Torneo Internacional Puerto Vallarta de Pez Vela y Marlin) has upheld a powerful presence among sport fishing tournaments. Year after year, some of the most prestigious fishermen from all over the world have come to fish the waters of Banderas Bay and compete for trophies, prizes and bragging rights.

Due to the success of previous tournaments, and thanks to the support of city authorities, local sponsors, the media, Puerto Vallarta Fishing Club members and the community in general, the Fiftieth Anniversary of the Puerto Vallarta International Sailfish Tournament promises to be a spectacular event.

Anglers will compete daily to win prizes for catching the largest [that comply with local regulations] sailfish, marlin, dorado and tuna in the waters of Banderas Bay. Award categories range from Best Classified Lady, Best Classified Kid (up to 14 years old) and Best Classified Crew to the Largest Fish Caught and the First Fish Caught.

Featured prizes range from brand new cars to fishing rods and reels, trophies, complimentary mounting of fish caught during the tournament, silver medals, outboard motors and a large cash prize.

Registration fees are $11,000 pesos per line before October 31st, and $12,000 pesos per line after November 1st. This price includes 4-days of exciting fishing action and heated competition, a welcome cocktail at the Sheraton Buganvillias Resort, an Inauguration Ceremony at the Harbor Master Building, a nightly fishing reception dinner at Marina del Rey in Marina Vallarta, and an Award Ceremony Dinner at the Sheraton Buganvillias Resort and Convention Center.
