JBW Girlz Ejected for Solicitation

Tequila festival promoter upset with free speech tactics.
When the makers of America's first 100% blue agave spirit inquired about exhibiting at the recent Los Angeles Tequila Festival, the Mexico- based Tequila Regulatory Council decided to bar Skyrocket Distillers, based in Temecula, CA. "They didn't want him involved", said Vicente Mota, CEO of Don Juan, the show's co-producer, when asked by Mark Kawar of the Press Enterprise Newspaper. Mr. Mota told JB Wagoner the same thing and named Washington lobbyist Judith Mesa-Nixon from the Tequila Regulatory Council as the contact person.

Inspite of being officially banned, Skyrocket Distillers decided to send in some of "America's Finest" (aka The JBW Girlz) to attend the show wearing tanktops emblazoned with the "JB Wagoner's Ultra Premium" logo and a fist-full of free raffle tickets. The tickets were for a raffle to be held after the show at the adjacent Sherton Fairplex Hotel bar and were freely given to anyone who asked for one.

Beautiful Women Not Welcomed

The Girlz had toured the show for a few hours when, in a panic, the show's producers decided to put an end to the friendly participation by ejecting the ladies from the event by accussing them of solicitation. Once JB got word of what happened, he brought the girls back in to confront the show promoters on their unfair actions. This time, private security along with eight uniformed police officiers escorted Skyrockets' entire crew from the event. "Personally, I'm on your side and think it's dumb on the promoters part. You should be allowed to stay", said one of the policemen, "but I'm just doing my job." After another two hours, the shows producers refunded the money for all of Skyrocket Distillers' participants.

The party reconvened and continued at McKinely's Bar & Grill in the adjacent Sherton Fairplex Hotel. A packed crowd watched the USC vs. Fresno game while enjoying margarita's and cosmopolitans made with JB Wagoner's Ultra Premium 100% Blue Agave Spirits. After the game, two souvenir bottles and $100 were raffled off to the excited party.

Although the Tequila Festival allowed a variety of products to be marketed, the show's organizers selectively banned U.S. producers of agave spirits. The question is, why don't they want people to even sample a domestic alternative?

Not only is JB Wagoner's the first domestically produced 100% blue agave spirit, but it's made in small batches using a proprietary distillation system which produces an ultra pure liquor--low in hangover producing compounds. It's available at a number of stores, including Beverages & More in California.

About Skyrocket Distillers LLC

Skyrocket Distillers LLC was inadvertently started when the company's founder, JB Wagoner, began growing agaves as an alternative to water hungry avocados, whose prices were being adversely affected by new NAFTA regulations. The distinctive red, white and blue bottle, with its prominent "Made in the USA" label, was designed to eliminate any question as to its country of origin. - Website: http://www.jbwagoners.com

What's the difference?

Tequila is a distilled spirit made from the blue agave plant. The best tequilas are always made from 100% blue agave and are typically 80 proof. Skyrocket's product, JB Wagoner's Ultra Premium is also 100% blue agave and 100 proof. It cannot legally be called tequila because, unlike the other blue agave spirits, JB Wagoner's is made in the United States instead of Mexico.
