Utilizing a rich combination of well-researched facts and local legend, author David Lyons’ new book, "Mexico’s Hidden Gold," draws on the rich history of Mexico. In this story of a contemporary treasure hunt on the beautiful shores of Banderas Bay, Lyons spins a fast-moving tale that is as enlightening as it is entertaining.

A fortune in gold, stolen in the aftermath of the Mexican Revolution and buried in the hills above Puerto Vallarta, is the object of a desperate and deadly search over eighty years later. Laid-back gringos living in the rustic seaside village of Yelapa stumble across the path of men who will stop at nothing to find the treasure.

Tonight, David Lyons, a long-time Puerto Vallarta resident known to many as a regular performer at Garbo's on the South Side, will be hosting a champagne reception to launch his new book from 6-8 pm at the Cabana Club.

Serving up California cuisine and a fantastic view, the Cabana Club [located on Calle Uruguay, just a block down from Ley in downtown Vallarta,] offers the perfect atmosphere for such an exciting event - complete with free champagne and a chance to meet the author.

Signed copies of Lyons' book, Mexico's Hidden Gold, will be on sale for a donation of $100 pesos, and all proceeds from tonight's event will be donated to the Puerto Vallarta Los Mangos Public Library.
