Local Realtor Wins Acopio Logo Contest

The Animal Shelter of Puerto Vallarta recently unveiled a colorful new logo - thanks to local real estate agent and animal lover, Jolene Geil, who submitted the winning design in the Acopio's logo contest that took place last month.
Organized by shelter employees and video journalist Laura Gelezunas, the logo contest was an effort to not only promote community involvement at El Centro de Acopio, but also to obtain much needed signs to help visitors find the remote shelter.
Since the Animal Shelter is not the easiest place to locate, all of the signs entered in the contest were going to be used along the roads to the Animal Shelter but, sadly, only one sign/logo was submitted for consideration.
So, of course, the bright and colorful sign created by Jolene Geil, a real estate agent working at Timothy Fuller & Associates in Puerto Vallarta, was the winning entry, earning her the free videomercial featured on this page.

Geil admits to having some creative flare and a desire to assist the Animal Shelter. She says, "Animals bring joy into your life. I have two cats and simply adore them. Hopefully my efforts can help people connect with the animals at the shelter and bring happiness to all."
When asked to comment on the outcome of the contest, Shelter Director, Dr. Jorge Guevara Aguilar, had this to say, "We are excited we received a new logo and really appreciate Jolene's effort... it's bright, colorful and shows happy animals."
Every Thursday is adoption day at the Acopio. So be sure to stop by the shelter between 10 am and 2 pm to check out the animals or lend a hand to the Bath Brigade. Led by Sherrill Madden, the Bath Brigade cleans up the dogs and cats that are waiting to be adopted - so they'll look their very best for their new owners.

El Centro de Acopio Animal Estrena Nuevo "Look"

 El Centro de Acopio Animal de Puerto Vallarta esta orgulloso de su nuevo logo. Debido a que no habia un logo oficial, se organizó un concurso para encontrar uno involucrando y promoviendolo en la comunidad.
Debido a que el Centro de Acopio Animal no es un lugar facil de encontrar, todos los señalamientos inscritos iban a ser usados para ser colocados en las calles de Vallarta indicando el camino al Centro de Acopio Animal. Aunque con nuestros mejores esfuerzos, solo un Logo señalamiento fue traido y "luce estupendo."
El M.V.Z. Jorge Guevara Aguilar, menciona estar muy contento de haber recibido al menos uno y realmente aprecia el esfuerzo de haberlo traido. El Logo es brillante, colorido y muestra animales felices.
El diseño ganador fue creado e inscrito por Jolene Geil de Puerto Vallarta.
La ganadora de este concurso, Geil, admite tener creatividad y quiere apoyar al Centro de Acopio Animal, agrega que los animales traen alegria a tu vida. "Tengo dos gatos y simplemente los adoro," ella dice. "Espero que mi esfuerzo pueda ayudar a la gente a encontrar el Centro de Acopio Animal y que muchos animales puedan conseguir un hogar y poderles dar felicidad."
Jueves son de adopción de 10 am a 2 pm. puedes sacar a los animales y darles una mano bañandolos junto con la brigada, ellos bañan a los perros para que luzcan muy bien en tanto son adoptados; todos los jueves empezando a las 10 am.
