Mexico Citizenship HELP! for Foreigners
email this pageprint this pageemail usPVNN

Bonnie Sumlin, the General Director of the Manzanillo Foreign Community Association A.C., will be at the Santa Barbara Theater in Puerto Vallarta on Friday, October 27th at 11 am and 4 pm to provide HELP! for expats who want to obtain Mexican Citizenship.
If you are a foreigner who has lived in Mexico for five or more years, and are tired of paying the yearly fees for renewing your FM2 or FM3, stop by the Santa Barbara Theater in Puerto Vallarta on Friday, October 27th to learn how easy it is to obtain Mexican citizenship.

Today, it is easier than ever for foreigners to acquire Mexican citizenship, and Bonnie Sumlin, the General Director of the Manzanillo Foreign Community Association A.C., will be onhand to tell you everything you need to know about becoming a Mexican citizen.

Bonnie has been helping "Gringos" obtain Mexican Citizenship for more than 9 years. In fact, last year alone, Bonnie and the HELP! association helped close to 80 of their members receive certification as Mexican Citizens.

At this free seminar, Bonnie will explain how obtaining citizenship can help you overcome the limits imposed on foreigners who live, work or own property in Mexico. And becoming a Mexican Citizen is only one of the services she and her organization provide.

They can also help foreign residents get your FM3 or FM2, show you how to benefit from the Mexican Social Security Plan, and assist in understanding and translating important legal documents, such as police reports and Fideicomisos.

A non-profit organization, the primary purpose of HELP! is to assist people who are visiting and living in the Manzanillo area by providing them with the most up to date information available regarding emergency service for illness, legal matters, immigration problems, etc.

But while based in Manzanillo, the organization boasts a large number of members from the Puerto Vallarta area, many of whom have already received their certifications as Mexican citizens and will attend the meeting to proudly show their new Mexican Passports and Voter Registration cards to anyone who wishes to see them.

The seminar will also host special guests Jose Lamas of Merrill Lynch, who will answer your questions about investing in Mexican property, pension plans and retiring in Mexico, and Silvia Beas of MAPFRE Insurance who'll tell you about the medical, auto and homeowner insurance plans that are available to foreigners living in Mexico.

HELP! is a Mexican Civil Association that invites everyone to join and be informed. Members and contributors receive a quarterly newsletter, "As the Palapa Spins," which keeps you up-to-date on new laws that concern foreigners living in Mexico. For more information or to make your reservation, please call Gary or Ken at [322] 221-5970.
