A lavish buffet is a teaser for the great food to come at Festival Gourmet International Vallarta November 9th–19th.

The organizing committee of Festival Gourmet International Vallarta hosted a lavish press conference October 26th at the exclusive Casa Velas Beach Club in Marina Vallarta for local press, sponsors, and participating restaurants and their chefs.

A mini expo of some of the products of the Festival's sponsors ringed the poolside venue, and in a preview of the great food to come at Festival Gourmet 2006, the Casa Velas staff served a dizzying array of hot and cold canapés.

The Organizers, Chefs Thierry Blouet, Heinz Reize, and Roland Menetrey, were enthusiastic about this year's Festival, with its A-list of guest chefs, new format cooking classes, and favorite events like the Sunday Brunch and Cheeses of the World.

Wearing the official blue chef's jackets of this year's Festival, they presented the new Festival product line, which includes the blue Filipinas (jackets) with the Festival logo, and logo'd aprons and shirts. Chef Thierry Blouet sported the baseball cap with its distinctive Festival chef logo, sure to be popular among chefs and diners alike.

They unveiled the XII annual Festival's new publication, Gourmet 2006 Recetario/Chefs/Recipes. Completely bilingual, it contains the complete Festival schedule, profiles of participating restaurants and their house chefs, and a collection of recipes from those accomplished chefs.

Gourmet 2006 Recetario/Chefs/Recipes features mouth watering color photographs of these gourmet creations by highly regarded local photographer Eduardo Solorzano. Kathy Taylor wrote and edited Gourmet 2006; the restaurant profiles are fresh and the chef profiles provide a unique viewpoint into what "stirs" each of these local chefs, from their inspired beginnings to their current passions.

She edited over a hundred recipes in English and Spanish. Two from each restaurant are in the book, and one from each is on the Festival Gourmet website, FestivalGourmet.com.

Festival coordinator Gina Naya supervised the project, providing expert liaison between all the contributors, and the magazine was designed and published by Colofon. Diseno y Comunicacion S.C. in Mexico City.

Look for Gourmet 2006 Recetario/Chefs/Recipes' distinctive sea-blue cover at all participating restaurants. It will be available at all Festival events along with the complete line of Festival wear.
