Jaltemba Bay and the nearby communities 60 kms North of Puerto Vallarta can now receive their news in English every morning. The Jaltemba Express is sent via email to over 700 people who are living or visiting the communities along the Bay.

One merely clicks the link and is sent to a webpage that gives pictures, daily news, articles and guest columnists.

The “Express” was originally started two years ago by publishers Bill and Dorothy Bell for the La Peñita RV Resort and Spa as a daily newsletter of upcoming events and to spoof the comings and goings of the park and community.

The response and readership grew and the Bell’s this year have decided to expand their community base to include all the neighborhoods along the Bay and to those who will be visiting. “We took a look at who was reading the paper and found that over half were non-RV residents. We decided to expand our coverage” says Dorothy.

The Jaltemba Bay area includes the communities of Los Ayala, Rincon de Guayabitos, La Peñita de Jaltemba and La Colonia de Paraiso; although Bell says that the paper will cover events and activities that exceed those exact boundaries.

“People are interested in day trips and events all over the coast and into the interior. After we ran an article on Guadalajara, a group formed and are taking a bus trip to see the sights of that magnificent city” says Bell.

Guest columnists include Restaurant Reviews from the kitchen Goddess (AKA Lindy Binns) and the irreverent Ms. Maneras – who was fired from the Express two years ago for bad taste and poor manners. She was brought back by popular demand (she has a large family) and will be featured in the Monday, Wednesday and Friday editions.
