CABLEVISION brings TiVo to Mexico
email this pageprint this pageemail usBrad Linder - PVNN

Mexico's largest digital cable operater, CABLEVISION has partnered with TiVo to provide PVRs to CABLEVISION subscribers in Mexico City.

According to the press release, this will be the first time TiVo's interface will be available in Spanish, although I can't imagine that it would take a lot of programming to convert phrases such as "Season Pass" and "Wish List."

It's good to see TiVo rolling out in new markets, and it's good to see them partnering with cable service providers.

One of the reasons it's been difficult to use a PVRs in countries such as Australia is the lack of access to program guide data.

Striking deals with an Australian television service provider would be one way to overcome that hurdle.
