Despite the use of the term "Back Alley" in the restaurant's name, there is nothing back alley about Bruce's Back Alley Bistro. It is quite nicely decorated and their menu is really good, if you like steaks and chops.

World-trained Chef Bruce, the owner of Bruce's Back Alley Bistro, is a big guy with a big heart and a big appetite - so be sure to visit his beautiful south side restaurant with a large appetite.

On one visit we had the huge serving of pork [or chicken] with Forestierre sauce and house-made mashed potatoes. He also provides top quality house-aged Angus and Kobe steaks as grilled rib eye or New York with compound butter, Chicken stuffed with fruit, almonds and spinach with warm citrus curry sauce, and his signature Rack of New Zealand Lamb for Two.

Seafood fanciers on several occasions tried the large and sweet Mariposa Prawns with glass noodles and maple curry cream sauce, Alaskan King Crab, Ruby Red Snapper with smoky tomato cream, Salmon with tropical spiced apple and peppery butter maple reduction, and perfectly seared Ahi Tuna with citrus sesame soy sauce.

For starters try the Baked Brie with warm strawberry purée, gorgeous Bistro Salad with house dressing, Baby Louie with bacon-pear reduction and Parmesan shavings, Salmon or Ahi Tuna Sashimi and Skirted Prawns wrapped with bacon and drizzled with warm citrus pepper sauce.

Bruce's Back Alley Bistro also features a full bar and an extensive wine list - and with wines from 17 countries, you are sure to find the perfect selection to accompany your meal.

Reminiscent of a New York steak house, Bruce's Back Alley Bistro is a culinary jewel in this town's crown. Located at Francisco I. Madero 225 on the South Side of Puerto Vallarta, Bruce's is open every Monday through Saturday from 5-11 pm.
