Mexican Congress: No More Servility to US
email this pageprint this pageemail usPrensa Latina

The Mexican PRD (Democratic Revolution) and PRI (Institutional Revolutionary) parties denounced President Felipe Calderon´s foreign policy for strengthening US security.

Congressmen Jose Murat and Cuauhtemoc Sandoval spoke of secret negotiations between US conservatives and the Mexican government to approve the so-called Wide Area Augmentation System "to promote prosperity by reducing the cost of trading."

Sandoval pointed out the difference between integrating into a bloc with the north and being absorbed by one of the most powerful world economies.

Murat meanwhile, questioned Fox´s foreign priorities in not energetically protesting the many nationals killed at the border and the wall "of ignominy" under construction to stop Mexicans from entering the United States.
