Santa Barbara Theater's newest musical sensation, BeDazzled! offers Puerto Vallarta musical theater lovers a veritable joy ride through decades of fabulous musicals and show-stopping songs every Thursday at 8 pm through the end of March.

This original production, developed, written, and co-produced by Sharon Baughman-White, features five of Vallarta’s finest entertainers and singers that will knock your socks off, tickle your funny bone, and bring goose-bumps to your soul with their hilarious and poignant renditions of some all time favorite melodies.

Come and BeDazzled by songs originally recorded by Rod Stewart, Mandy Patankin, Judy Garland, Angela Lansbury, Bette Midler, the Andrew Sisters, and many more. BeDazzled by melodies from shows such as Cats, Chess, Rent, Les Misérables, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, Seasons of Love, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, A Little Night Music and more.

When Baughman-White put together this night of music, it wasn't just to have the chance to direct, though that's how it worked out. "What I really wanted was to offer was a night of good music. We sing a lot of Broadway tunes, in fact music from over ten Broadway shows. These are songs that we know, that we like to hear and like to sing," says Sharon.

The group of five entertainers includes Sharon, her husband David White, Paco Ringness, Norma Schuh and Sandi Lee. Each is well-known and recognized in his or her own right.

"What I liked best," she continued, "was the chance to match the right song with the right voice. Another fun part of this show is in the rehearsing of three of our numbers with the assistance of the two creative choreographic wonders, Paul Guerrero and Federico Fonseca."

BeDazzled isn’t just the name of the production, it’s the effect the show has on you after hearing some of Vallarta’s finest singers belt out some of the best songs ever performed on theater stages or the silver screen.

The music consists of duets, solos, trios, and group ensembles, three of them choreographed. According to Baughman-White, "The experience itself is joyful. I decided it was a good time to bring back some great singing. In a couple of the numbers we do back-up for the others and just have fun."

Showcasing a cast of talented local performers, BeDazzled promises to be one of this season's most popular musicals, entertaining audiences with a great of evening of live entertainment filled with song and soul.
