Artist Ropi and Chef Art Mendoza Join Forces

Famous artist Ropi, known for his brilliant architecture as well as his artwork, has agreed to join forces with artist and chef Art Mendoza to create a mural on one wall of Punta Mita Time, the popular North Shore restaurant formerly known as Café Luna.
After purchasing the restaurant from his partner last year, Mendoza renamed and revamped the restaurant to create a place where Punta de Mita residents and visitors can enjoy live music performed by local and internationally famous musicians.
But Mendoza didn't stop there. Maintaining the original concept of serving high quality food in an artistic atmosphere, Punta Mita Time will soon be sporting one of Ropi's famous relief murals, similar to the one he created at the Rodriguez brothers' fashionable restaurant in Sayulita, Calypso.
When asked why the name change and also the collaboration with artist Ropi, Chef Mendoza replied, "I recorded a song entitled Punta Mita Time and everyone started to sing it and I felt it was a natural thing to do. I am also an animator and asked Ropi if he would assist me in launching my Audio/Visual Production company, artoonz, to the world. Seeing that he had a style similar to mine, I hoped he would say yes, and he did!"
Since purchasing the restaurant from his former Café Luna partner in November, Chef Art has built Punta Mita Time into a great meeting place where great food is served for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
"I have plans to build a silver screen to show movies regularly. We already have music and we will soon have Open Mic Night for young and up-coming performing artists. Being an artist, I truly believe in supporting all artists at whatever level they may be, so hopefully Punta Mita Time will be a place that all artists will know about."
With so much talent in one place, Punta Mita Time is quickly becoming a Punta de Mita Hot Spot where, according to Mendoza, "all will be entertained, whether by the music or our excellent cuisine."
