Sunday was the second time the group made the long walk on the border to protest border fences and walls.
Sierra Vista - Nearly 100 people gathered on the Arizona-Mexico border to protest the use of fences to separate the United States from Mexico.

Two groups, made up of members of various Arizona and Mexico churches, on Sunday walked along each side of a border wall in Naco that separates Arizona from Mexico.

Father Guillermo Coronado of La Iglesia San Jose in Naco, Sonora, said more people need to organize similar demonstrations.

"This is a sign of what needs to be done in all the border states rather than rejecting and ignoring other human beings," he said. "The greatest gift we have is that we are human beings with a mission to love and be happy. God has no borders."

On the Arizona side, demonstrator John Applegate said all immigrants want to do is find decent jobs in the United States.

"Immigrants have always come here to work and to prosper," he said. "We need to express our ideas and help those less fortunate. All they want is to work."
