Tour Moves Into Vallarta As Mexican Swing Continues

Canadian Wes Heffernan is in third spot on the money list, trailing just Bland and Smith.
Nuevo Vallarta - The Canadian Tour’s Mexican swing continues this week as the Riviera Nayarit Classic is staged in Vallarta.

An international field will take on El Tigre Golf Club in Vallarta for a $125,000 US purse from Thursday to Sunday. The Riviera Nayarit Classic in the third stop in a month-long Mexico run, which concludes next week with the Iberostar Riviera Maya Open.

So far, American Byron Smith and Aussie Adam Bland have tasted the bubby in Mexico. Bland’s three-shot win at the Ford Culiacan Open last week was his second in four starts since joining the Tour last month at San Diego qualifying tournament. The rookie has opened up a healthy lead atop the Rolex Order of Merit and will be looking to continue his winning ways in Vallarta.

Canadian Wes Heffernan is in third spot on the money list, trailing just Bland and Smith. Heffernan chases his second win of the campaign this week.

The balance of the field will be made up of Mexican PGA professionals and three starters from the Tour de Las Americas.
