Puerto Vallarta Pirates Motorcycle Club members have always been very supportive of local charities, especially when children are involved. So, this spring, this group of Banderas Bay bikers who share a common love for choppers and children started hosting Motorcycle Runs to raise money for area schools and charitable causes.

It all started on April 1st, with a Motorcycle Run from Puerto Vallarta to Punta de Mita and Rincon de Guayabitos to raise money for Proyecto Pitillal, Busca un Amigo A.C., a non-profit association for underprivileged children in the Banderas Bay area who are afflicted with cerebral palsy.

Then, on Sunday May 6th, these incredible motorcycle riding champions hit the open road again, traveling from Vallarta to Mascota-Talpa to raise even more money to help cover the Proyecto Pitillal children's therapy needs.

The Pirate's community involvement is nothing short of inspiring, regularly organizing charity events, rides and runs to benefit those in the most critical need. Most recently, they organized a community ride that raised money for the Salcedo School.

A total of 15 motorcycles and 8 passengers participated in the event, raising $2900 pesos, which was presented to Salcedo School Manager, Martha Alice Ponce. The school, which serves the needs of PV and as far north as Rincon de Guayabitos/Las Varas, will use the money for the classroom addition currently underway.

PV Pirates Motorcycle Club President Miguel Morris recently announced that, starting in October, the Pirates will be having one fund raiser ride a month for various charities in the Banderas Bay area.

Morris went on to say that although the Pirates are currently all Harley Davidson riders, one of his primary objectives is to include the participation of ALL Banderas Bay area motorcyclists and moto enthusiasts in these charity events.

The PV Pirates invite all area bikers and riders to join them for these fun and fervent fund raisers. For more information in English, call Dennis Rike at (322) 221-2479. Para más información en Español, llame Miguel Morris a 044-322-227-1017.
