email this pageprint this pageemail usPrensa Latina

The CONAGUA planned a preventive campaign in advance, directed to the population living in risky areas like Campeche, Oaxaca, Colima, Chiapas, Guanajuato, San Luis Potosi, Hidalgo, Veracruz, Michoacan and Tamaulipas, among others.
The National Water Commission (CONAGUA) has called to adopt preventive measures to face serious damages in nearly 18 states of the country during the current rainy season.

The entity planned a preventive campaign in advance, directed to the population living in risky areas like Campeche, Oaxaca, Colima, Chiapas, Guanajuato, San Luis Potosi, Hidalgo, Veracruz, Michoacan and Tamaulipas, among others.

The operation includes detection of disturbing phenomena, location of operation centers, diagnosis of hydraulic information, emergency plans, supervision of river banks and access roads.

Heavy rains, associated to tropical phenomenon Barbara, affected the southern states of Chiapas, Oaxaca and Guerrero last weekend, and seriously damaged agriculture and forced evacuation of thousands.
