Bikers Benefit Banderas Bay School Children
email this pageprint this pageemail usPVNN

It all started when two girls from Whistler BC Canada, Katelyn Clarkson and Lisa Lewis, decided to get tattoos while they were visiting relatives in Nuevo Vallarta.

But they didn't have time to go all of the way into downtown Puerto Vallarta, so PV Choppers owners, Rafael and Denise Velez invited Padrino Rey, Alex, and tattoo artists David and Rafa of Eclipse Azteca Tattoos to their motorcycle shop.

Denise decided that since the tattoo artists were coming all the way out to Nuevo, she would invite the "Piratas" motorcycle club and make it an event! So, on Saturday, July 14th, Puerto Vallarta Choppers and Eclipse Azteca Tattoos turned the day into a fundraiser to help purchase school supplies for underpriviledged children in the Banderas Bay area.

Through raffle ticket sales, a "bikini bike wash," cash donations and a percentage of tattoo proceeds, the school supply drive raised over $2300 pesos that will go towards helping local kids get back to school with the supplies they need.

All of the sponsors wish to thank everyone who made this event so successful, and they are all looking forward to August 18th, when PV Choppers will be hosting a pool tournament to raise even more money to help the kids get ready for school.

In the meantime, Puerto Vallarta Choppers, the Puerto Vallarta Pirates, Eclipse Azteca Tattoos and The Treehouse Bar & Grill will continue their efforts to gather as many school supplies (backpacks, notebooks, pencil, etc.) as possible for the local children.

If you'd like to help, donation boxes can be found at Puerto Vallarta Choppers at Carr. Tepic #996 in Nuevo Vallarta and at The Treehouse Bar & Grill (Miguelito's) on Basilio Badilllo #287 in Puerto Vallarta through the 3rd week of August.

If you are interested in learning more about the School Supply Drive, or would like to make a donation, please call Rafael or Denise Velez at (322) 297-6469 or Lori at (322) 223-1263.
