Puerto Vallarta has become a very important art center, with more galleries than any other Mexican coastal destination, representing Mexico's finest artists as well as artists from other countries who have chosen Puerto Vallarta as their home.

Every October kicks off the official opening of the Puerto Vallarta "art season," and this year promises to be the best ever, with art galleries and events spotlighting local and internationally known artists from Mexico and around the world.

On October 24th, the Old Town Art Walk will begin its twelfth year as one of the most important and popular cultural events in Puerto Vallarta with the first Art Walk of the 2007-2008 art season.

During the Old Town Art Walk, which continues through May 28th, 2008, the following Puerto Vallarta art galleries will be holding free cocktail expositions every Wednesday night from 6 to 10 pm:

Galeria Vallarta, Galeria Uno, Galeria Corona, Galeria AL, Corsica Galeria, Galeria Omar Alonso, Galeria des Artistes, Galeria 8, Thierry Blouet Fine Art Collection, The Loft, Galeria de Ollas, Galeria Art Popular Mexicano, Sergio Bustamante, Galeria Pacifico and Beatriz Narvaez Galeria

These popular downtown art galleries (all within walking distance of each other,) will be brimming with new exhibitions featuring art in all mediums - paintings, sculptures, pottery and folk art - so be sure to stop by to meet with the artists, view new work, and share in the wealth of culture these cocktail receptions present.
