Mexico City - The US blockade against Cuba is evil, cruel and inhuman, said Vice President of the Mexican Senate Yeidckol Polevnsky in an interview with Prensa Latina recently.

She added that from the platform of the Senate, she will continue declaring her rejection of the siege and demanding an end to "this criminal madness, which has affected an entire people for so many years."

Polevnsky strongly criticized Washington's refusal to see or listen to worldwide repudiation of the punitive measure against the Island, expressed in the resolution of the UN General Assembly every year.

The US, which is always talking about human rights in other places, wants to be the gendarme of the world. However, it kills and violates rights in the entire planet, she said.

The Senate leader hoped that, by its vote at the UN, the Mexican government will assert its express interest to normalize relations with Cuba, thus gaining coherence between words and deeds.
