The ATF presented four tables full of AK-47’s, other assault rifles, handguns, and an Uzi.
ATF seized 62 guns that officials said were intended for Mexican and Los Angeles gang members.

ATF officials told ABC15 the weapons were intended for the worst crimes imaginable.

At a press conference in downtown Phoenix Monday evening, ATF presented four tables full of AK-47’s, other assault rifles, handguns, and an Uzi.

The ATF also recovered hundreds of rounds of ammunition and about $1,300 cash.

“These are their tools of the trade. These are their weapons of choice,” said Special Agent Bill Newell of the ATF.

“They’re being used to shoot at innocent civilians, police officers… anybody who would get in the way of somebody using (firearms) like this is in danger,” said Newell.

ATF officials say many of the weapons were purchased at gun shows.

Most of the weapons seized are considered military grade.
