Josh Iwasiuk died Jan. 26 after falling from a 10th floor balcony in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.

Winnipeg - The Mexican embassy in Ottawa said Wednesday authorities will conduct a thorough investigation into the death of a Manitoba teen who allegedly fell 10 storeys from a resort balcony in Puerto Vallarta last week.

Josh Iwasiuk, 19, was vacationing with his older brother at the Getaway Club Resort when he died Saturday afternoon.

His brother, Jerry Iwasiuk, said he last saw his sibling when the two were drinking at a hotel bar, before he was escorted by security guards to the duo's room, where he fell asleep, intoxicated.
