Once upon a time, a very nice lady (former literary agent) decided that the little "suburb" of Puerto Vallarta needed a little library for the children of her area. So, after a lot of work, planning, and stocking of children's books, Biblioteca de la Higuera was born.
This little library is tucked away under a giant tree in the back of Sally Conley's home in El Pitillal. Stocked well with plenty of reading materials, craft supplies, little tables and chairs, this has become a tiny refuge for many little people.
Sally has seen former little ones grow up into teens, enjoying the pleasures and importance of being able to read and expand their knowledge of the world around them. But, in order to keep the library up and running, funds are a continual need.
On Wednesday, February 27, 2008, Pamela Thompson will host a Banana Cantina Charity Night from 6 pm til 10 pm, giving you a chance to enjoy a lovely meal, great company and a lot of fun in support of Sally Conley and her library.
Lots of great raffle prizes will be for sale for $50 pesos per ticket, and a portion of the food sales will be put together with the raffle ticket proceeds to provide a boost to Biblioteca de Higuera, which is very much needed at this time.

Held every Wednesday night from 6 to 10 pm, Local Celebrity Charity Night at Banana Cantina gives everyone the opportunity to make a difference in the life of a child while enjoying a fabulous night of friendship, food and fun.
