The third annual charity auction put on by the North Bay Community Assistance Organization will be held Saturday, February 23rd. The event will take place at Britannia Pub, located at Coral #65 in La Cruz de Huanacaxtle.

The live auction begins at 4 pm (Jalisco time) but musical entertainment, provided by the band Bobbi Lee and the Chosen Few, will kick off the event starting at 3 pm.

Professional auctioneer Steve Terenpala of Muncie, IN, will make his annual trek to La Cruz to take charge of the auction.

The North Bay Community Assistance Organization is small a group of friends in La Cruz who have sponsored this annual fundraising event, as well as several others, since 2005. The events benefit persons in La Cruz, Bucerias and Punta de Mita in the state of Nayarit, who are in dire need of emergency medical or related expenses.

Most recently, the group covered the travel expenses of a family whose 5-year-old daughter required surgery in Guadalajara. North Bay paid bus and taxi fares and paid the father's salary so he could join the rest of his family without missing a week's worth of income.

Group members pointed out that 100% of funds raised by the auction will be used for charitable activities.
