The Rehabilitation Clinic of Santa Barbara (Clinica de Rehabilitation Santa Barbara) will be recognized with a fundraiser by New York City musical performers Dana and Mark Zeller on March 3, 4, 10, and 11 at 6:30 pm at the Cathy von Rohr Galeria-Studio, Manuel M. Dieguez 321, on the southside of Vallarta.

The clinic provides physical therapy for injuries and supportive therapy for patients with brain diseases such as cerebral palsy. Dana praises Clinica de Rehabilitation Santa Barbara "for its expertise in physical therapy." Dana discovered the "disciplined, healing and nurturing clinic" when she sprained her ankle.

The building is on Calle Mike Lemus (across the highway from Hotel Krystal) with supervising experience of Dr. Norma Carrion, who is fluent in English. The Santa Barbara Clinic was founded by Senora Maria Luisa Ruiz Vasquez and her late husband, Senor Ruiz Vasquez. The clinic "does not turn anyone away because of financial need," Dana points out.

In the fundraiser program, Dana Zeller-Alexis, who delighted theater audiences here with her role in Shirley Valentine, and Mark Zeller, actor and singer who directed her, will perform songs from Broadway productions of Company, Zorba, Fiddler on the Roof, Jacques Brel is Alive and Well, Candide and songs by Jimmy Webb and Don McLean. Dana and Mark, veteran New York City producers, actors and singers, are executive producers of the 78th Street Theatre Lab, "performance haven for new playwrights and upcoming directors."

Broadway composers featured include Leonard Bernstein and Stephen Sondheim. Guest accompanist is Woody Regan, flying in from New York City for the benefit.

The benefit's audience also can view world photographer Robert Stahman's photos of the patients and the clinic. A watercolor painting by architect and painter Francisco Marugan will be for sale in a blind auction. Cathy von Rohr will display her paintings along with having donated her gallery and rehearsal space for the benefit's four nights of performance.

Tickets at $250 pesos ($25 USD) each are available by calling (322) 223-2697, or emailing dana78st(at)sbcgoal.net. Seating is limited.
