The 12th annual Vallarta International Film Festival will be a tribute to the comic Germán Valdés, "Tin-Tan" the late Mexican actor, singer and comedian

If the sun, sea and sand are not enough for you, another reason to be in Puerto Vallarta this March is the return of the Vallarta International Film Festival. This year marks the 12th annual film festival in Vallarta, which will be run as part of the Guadalajara International Film Festival.

The festival will run from the 10th of March to the 13th of March and the films will be presented at Cinema CUCOSTA, on the Malecon and Cinépolis.

There will be 6 major films, short films, documentaries, films for children and, for the first time in Vallarta, Cinema for the Blind. Many cinemas nowadays have devices designed for the blind, for example ear pieces through which the important actions and movements of characters are narrated.

This festival will be a tribute to the comic Germán Valdés, "Tin-Tan," the late Mexican actor, singer and comedian. Other invitees will be Ximena Sariñana, Roberto Sosa, Ana Serradilla, Plutarch Haza, Marco Trevino and Cesar Bono.

The festival will run three competitions for the students of the Centro Universitario de la Costa including a short film category with a prize of $10,000 pesos, a "Spot" video which takes a maximum of 20 seconds and is used to promote the festival, and a photography competition in the categories of comedy, tragedy and fiction.

More information about film listings will be coming soon!
