Racing Fun for Charity

On April 27th, more than 100 participants showed up at El Tigre Golf Course to run, walk or ride their bikes towards the finish line, raising over $40,000 pesos for the 3rd Annual Casa Comunidad 5K, Family Walk and Bicycle Parade.
 

On your mark, get set, go! The whistle blew and competitors made their way on the racecourse for the third annual Casa Comunidad 5K event on April 27, 2008. Over 100 participants ran, walked and even rode their bikes. The morning weather was perfect for this fun event.

Over $40,000 pesos were raised for Casa Comunidad, which is one of the programs run by PEACE, a non-profit agency in the U.S. and Mexico. Currently assisting over 700 people, Casa Comunidad programs include classes in English for children and adults, after-school programs which feature, sports, folk dancing, arts and crafts and adventure education, just to name a few.

PEACE would like to thank their sponsors: El Tigre, La Cruz Realty, Liverpool, The Four Seasons, Truqui Construction and Villa Anada, plus all those who participated.

Medals were awarded for top finishers and everyone received a t-shirt to commemorate the event.

En sus marcas, listos, fuera! El silbato sonó y los competidores salieron en la tercera carrera anual por Casa Comunidad, el 27 de abril de 2008. Mas de 100 personas participaron. Era un día perfecto para este divertido evento.

Se recolectaron más de $40,000 pesos para Casa Comunidad, que es uno de los programas realizados por PEACE, una asociación sin fines de lucro en México y los Estados Unidos.

Actualmente Casa Comunidad trabaja con más de 700 pesonas, los programas de Casa Comunidad incluyen clases de ingles para niños y adultos, clases de regularización, programas de deportes, arte, baile folklorico entre otros.

PEACE quiere agradecer a todos sus patrocinadores: El Tigre Club de Golf, La Cruz Realty, Liverpool, The Four Seasons, Construcciones Truqui, Villa Ananda y a todos aquellos que participaron.

Se otrogaron medalleas a los primeron lugares y todos recibieron una playera para conmemorar el evento.
