bANANaCANtiNA Charity Nights are Back!

Banana Cantina owner Debbi Egan is continuing to help raise money for Banderas Bay area schools and charitable organizations by hosting Local Celebrity Charity Night at her Puerto Vallarta restaurant on Wednesday nights and giving 10% of the house to the chosen charity.

Last Wednesday night, November 26th, was the first Charity Night of the 2008-2009 season. "Unbelievable!" is what Kerri Rivera of AutismO2 said in her email this morning. But it's not really, at least not when you realize how many wonderful, amazing, generous people there are in Puerto Vallarta.
What started out as a crazy kind of down day for me personally turned around as I asked The Universe and God to send me positive energy, it was sent in abundance.
One of the first things I read when I got back home was that someone could sponsor a charity page on BanderasNews for $5000 pesos - and I knew what my goal for the day was.
Candace of Fishing with Caroline hosted the night with her amazing energy and smile, selling, selling and more selling of raffle tickets for prizes from Cassandra Shaw Jewelry, Lucy's Cucu Cabana (the most fun store in town) and tickets to MM Cinema from Mano a Mano. Together with the 10% of sales from bANANaCANtiNA, we raised $4873.50 pesos, BRAVO!

While Candace and the staff of bANANaCANtiNA were working their magic, I was sitting at the ChocoBanana counter (okay hustling old and potential customers) and telling them about the AutismO2 event and my mission to raise the money for the web page. Two beautiful men listened and then went upstairs to dinner. Ten minutes later they were back down telling me I had it, they would donate the $5000 pesos for the webpage!
That is amazing and it gets better, I went upstairs and shared the news, not their names, they choose to be anonymous and two more beautiful men will pay for 2 children for 1 year's worth of time in the hyperbaric chamber! When I say beautiful, I'm not just talking about them looking good, I am talking about the whole package, inside and out, sharing their good health and fortune.
AUTISM02 is a non-profit clinic with a Hyperbaric Chamber for those with MS, Fibromyalgia, Cancer, stroke and many other serious ailments. If you'd like to help, future bANANaCANtiNA Charity Night dates for AutismO2 are as follows: January 21, February 18, March 18, April 22 and May 13, 2009.

Even with Doctors donating time and Cornerstone Hospital lowering costs, the bill is at $15,000 pesos.
