Toys for Tots Vallarta is proud to announce plans for their two major fundraisers for the year. On Saturday December 13th, the Vista Vallarta Golf Club Tom Weiskopf Course will be filled with golfers participating in the 10th annual Toys for Tots Golf Tournament. The Scramble format with a shotgun start begins at noon. Groups can sign up together or individual golfers or small groups can be matched up with others to participate.

There will be prizes for hole-in-one, lowest score, and the category with the stiffest competition - worst team! Golfers will also have a chance to win some awesome door prizes.

On Sunday evening, December 14th be prepared to kick up your heels at the Gala Dinner Dance at the Marriott.

The "casually formal" dinner includes delicious food, an open bar, a band playing very danceable music, a silent auction and many more door prizes.

Cost to participate in the golf tournament is $1300 pesos ($110 USD) per golfer. Dinner tickets are available for $900 pesos ($80 US) per person.

100% of proceeds from ticket sales to both events will be go directly to Toys for Tots to buy toys. Sponsors pick up all costs of the events, and Toys for Tots has no paid staff.

Major sponsors include the Marriott Casa Magna Resort and Spa, which pays 100% of the cost of the dinner including food and the open bar.

The Vista Vallarta Golf Club provides the use of their course at no charge. Coldwell Banker/La Costa Realty pays for the dance band and shirts/caps supplied to all volunteers on toy distribution day, as well as making a generous cash donation towards the purchase of toys.

Scotiabank has provided a large cash grant each year to supplement what is made through the fundraisers. Many local businesses provide prizes for the events, including airline tickets donated by Continental Airlines for the silent auction.

And finally, TaylorMade/Adidas Golf Company asks each participant at their annual golf outing in PV to bring in toys, which can generate donations of upwards of 1000 toys. El Instituto Jalisciense de Asistencia Social (a state agency) has agreed to match all money raised by Toys for Tots, peso for peso up to $200,000 pesos.

Tickets can be purchased from any number of sources, including the Marina and Vista golf shops, the Marriott concierge, and the Vallarta Yacht Club in Paradise Village, or by calling Jerry Lafferty at (322) 221-6156 (Conchas Chinas), Fred Piontkowski at 209-0064 (Marina area), Robert Bertrand at 223-0055 (Amapas), or from any Navy League member.
