On November 27th, many Banderas Bay area restaurants are serving up a traditional US-style turkey dinner with all the trimmings. Here are just a few:

An American Thanksgiving dinner is a grand tradition, and many expats, snowbirds and yes, even visitors, prefer to keep the holiday traditional by gathering together family and friends for a more "homey" celebration. Here are a few tips to help you keep it as simple as possible.

The Deli, Venustiano Carranza 311, Romantic Zone

Serve up roasted turkey with gravy, cranberry relish, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, vegetables and dinner rolls - without breaking a sweat! The Deli will do all of the work, so you can spend more time with your loved ones. Freshly prepared and packed in a ready-to-heat container, all you have to do is pick it up and enjoy. $165 pesos per serving. Call 223-9523 to place your order before November 25th.

Paradise Bakery & Catering, Sierra Aconcagua 299, Corner of Prol. Brasil

Now is the time to order your Thanksgiving turkeys from Paradise Bakery & Catering. We can only prepare a certain amount, so orders are filled on a first come, first served basis. The turkeys are roasted to perfection and come with mashed potatoes, traditional sage, apple and onion stuffing, gravy, dinner rolls, vegetable and pumpkin pie, or any combination of the above. Order a whole turkey with all the accompaniments for about 15 people for just $2200 pesos. For smaller gatherings, complete, ready to heat and eat, dinner can be ordered for only $175 pesos per person. Special requests are welcome, so call (322) 222-5133 or 044-322-135-0929 (best if you are calling between 8 am and 4 pm and don't speak Spanish) to place your order now for Thanksgiving day pick up or delivery.

Pie in the Sky, Lázaro Cárdenas 247, El Centro & Héroe de Nacozari 202, Bucerías

For the perfect dessert after your Thanksgiving dinner, consider a freshly baked pie from Pie in the Sky Bakery. Holiday favorites such as apple, pecan and pumpkin are always popular, or you could get creative by serving a mango, key lime, coconut pie, or even a cheesecake in a tempting flavor such as Kahlua, chocolate or strawberry. Call (322) 223-8183 in Vallarta or (322) 298-0838 in Bucerias to order yours today!

And, if you feel you just HAVE TO do the all-day meal preparation ritual, be sure to check out the Thanksgiving Day Dinner Tips offered by Banderas News' Irreverent Chef, Liana Turner, who says, "May all your turkeys be moist and tender and all of your gatherings be full of goodwill, laughter, health, love, friendship, abundance and gratitude!"
