Comedy Club tickets can be purchased at the San Franciscan Resort, Calle Pilitas #213 at Olas Altas on the south side of Puerto Vallarta, or by calling (322) 222-6473, ext. 122.
If last night's opening at the San Franciscan Comedy Club is an indication of the remainder of their season, Vallarta, we are in for a rip-roaring good time!

The San Franciscan Comedy Club opened this week to a full house to start what will no doubt be a wonderful addition to the local entertainment we have appreciated for some time. In past years, Puerto Vallarta residents and visitors have been able to appreciate lots of wonderful musical artists, local theater, street performances and the like, but now we add to our entertainment repertoire - comedy.

New and alive with magic, the Comedy Club, located in the San Franciscan Resort & Gym at Calle Pilitas #213 and Olas Altas, is a theater-style club created to bring some of the best comedians in North America to Puerto Vallarta.

While I fancy comedy and enjoy tremendously a good laugh, it does not always happen. But I tell you, the club's inaugural performance last night featuring Brad Loekle from New York City had me rolling (not literally, I was wearing a white shirt) on the floor.

With about one dozen comedians lined up, who will each entertain us for a two-week run during high season, The Comedy Club is on my "must do" list for locals and visitors alike.

Every show will kick off with a complimentary happy hour at 8 pm, followed by the main comedy presentation every Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday evening through April 12, 2009.

Tickets will be sold in several locations. Tickets can also be directly purchased at the San Franciscan Resort door or by calling (322) 222-6473, ext. 122. Season tickets are also available at a discount. Your donations for tickets will benefit multiple charities, including AIDS worldwide.

For upcoming comic features visit SanFranciscanResort.com and click on comedy club. Advanced ticket purchase is recommended due to limited seating. Introductory price is $300 pesos, which includes a free bar! You may also email the Comedy Club at sanfranciscancomedy1(at)yahoo.com.

So from me to you, go bust a gut. You will not be disappointed. When you go, be sure to tell Pam that Mike from BanderasNews says "hello."
