The month is zipping by - I hope everyone is enjoying the gorgeous weather, renewing friendships - and doing whatever it is you like to do! There are lots of things going on around Vallarta in the next few weeks that you won't want to miss!

Friday, January 23rd, 6:00 pm

Los Mangos Library Annual "Subasta"
"Subasta" means "auction" - this is the annual big fundraiser for our local library (and BTW truly suffering right now money-wise!) This is THE place to find that special piece of art you have been looking for, at a good price and for a very good cause. As well, there will be loads of other items for sale - from spa treatments to fabulous dinners for two! Don't be late! Items go quickly! Wine and hors d'oeuvres will be served. Admission is free. Los Mangos Library is located at Francisco Villa #101 Tel: (322) 224-9966. Contact me for further information.

February 6th, 7:00 pm

St. Valentine Recital
The delightful music of violin and piano performed by Alejandro Villarreal and Daniel Juarez at the Hotel Westin Resort and Spa - Los Jardines. The first half of the program is devoted mostly to music by classical / romantic composers such as Mozart, Brahms, Villalobos, de Falla, Shostakovich and others and, after the intermission, the program continues with lyrical music by Mexican composers, mostly of the porfiriato period (late 19th / early 20th century) - such as Ricardo Castro, Juventino Rosas, Macedonio Alcalá, Alfredo Carrasco and Manuel María Ponce. Cost: $200 pesos to benefit Becas Vallarta, A.C. For more information contact Cecelia Scriban at (322) 223-4606.

February 20th-22nd

Now... Think Ahead!

March 5th, 7:00 pm

Becas Crystal Ball
This year's Becas Ball will be held at the Westin Hotel. The fun starts with a cocktail from 7 pm, followed by dinner at 8 pm and dancing 'til 12:30 am for just $850 pesos per person.

I will be honest here - I have never gone to the Beca's Ball. Why? Because I am single, thought I would be bored. WRONG! This year I am going, encouraging everyone to go! That means singles, gay, straight, couples - whatever! Put on your dancin' shoes - we can all dance together! We can all sit together! Who cares? It will be a blast - and all for a good cause!

This is the one chance in the year to get REALLY decked out - dressed up - strut your stuff (and you don't have any stuff to strut, let's find something!) The dance music will be fabulous and there will be some unique (and over the top!) silent auction items as well. Please contact me for tickets and let's work on the seating arrangements - so that we may all be together!

Please contact me for further information on any of the above events.
