President Felipe Calderón (R) met with then president-elect Barack Obama in Washington last week.
On tour in the state of Michoacán, President Felipe Calderón wished Barack Obama success during his administration as President of the United States.

He declared that the more he manages to solve his country’s economic problem, the more he will help Mexicans.

"From here, from this land of humble but hard-working, perseverant and poor people, people who miss their brothers and sisters, aunts and uncles and children that are in the United States, on behalf of all Mexicans, I would like to wish the new president of the United States, Barack Obama, every success in his administration," he said.

The President repeated his pledge to work shoulder to shoulder with the US President.
