For many there's only one way to say I love you on Valentine's Day - and that's with chocolate. One local chocolatier is dipping these delicacies by hand.
It is part science, part artistry and the sounds of satisfaction coming from customers that keep the Chocolate Diva at XocoDiva ladling up creations. She is gearing up for the lover's holiday.
"One of the most popular items for Valentine's Day is our chocolate dipped strawberries and we try to use locally grown berries," says Charlotte Semple, Chocolatier, "What I do is dip the strawberry into a dark, tempered chocolate and set it on the tray to let the chocolate cool and harden and for the finishing touch I just a drizzle of milk chocolate over the berries."
For over two years the shop has handcrafted their confections. They use only freshest ingredients and no preservatives. Give in to temptation by choosing an assortment.
"In celebration of chocolate we make a chocolate cocoa pod and it can be filled with your selection of chocolates," says Charlotte, "The lemon truffle, the coconut truffle, the chai, which is new this year, and this is perfect for Valentine's Day, the passion fruit heart. The pod is topped off with another molded piece of chocolate and the great thing about this it is that you can eat the box."
Open daily, 10 am to 10 pm, slide in for something sweet, soon.
