Community Christmas Eve Candlelight Service
Thursday, December 24th, 5:00 pm

This year’s Community Christmas Eve Service has moved to the Cecatur Auditorium, also known as the Agustin Flores Contreras Cultural Auditorium. The Cecatur is located at the corner of Zaragoza and Matamoros (Near the Main Plaza) in Centro Puerto Vallarta.

A larger venue was selected because last year’s popular event held at the Santa Barbara Theater had crowds spilling out the door and onto the sidewalk. The service will begin at 5 pm with the singing of traditional Christmas Carols before moving into readings from the birth of Christ and singing Christmas Hymns. The carols will be led by a group of singers from the Banderas Bay Community Choir. Nick Salmans, director of the Community Choir and Chamber Orchestra, will direct the music again this year.

Donations will be received to support the Vallarta Bookmobile. The bookmobile is a very successful high school service project begun and led by Dakota Bentz, a senior at Colegio Anglo Americano. She and other student volunteers from the school provide this lending library on wheels to children in the outlying, under-resourced neighborhoods of Puerto Vallarta. Monies donated will be used to buy more books to expand this amazing outreach into other needy areas of our community. More information can be found at VallartaBookmobile.com.
