Becas Valentine Classical Concert Under the Stars

On February 12th at 7 pm, the Westin Resort will host the Becas Vallarta Valentine Benefit Concert Under the Stars, featuring two of Vallarta's own artists, guitarist Mario Blanco and pianist Adriana Martínez, playing classical romantic music that will satisfy the most demanding of music lovers.
Becas Vallarta A.C. is pleased to present once again this unique and sought-after event in its second year, which celebrates both academic and music education in our community in one of the most enchanting surroundings of Puerto Vallarta.
This year we are pleased to present another two of Vallarta's own artists, the guitarist Mario Blanco and pianist Adriana Martínez.
Mario Blanco is well known in our city's musical circles as an outstanding guitarist and trova singer, who could be heard and seen in his own café Blanco y Negro in the Hotel Zone. Entirely self-taught, this is one of his first ventures into classical music – and what better way to concertise alongside his daughter, Adriana Martinez.
Talented Adriana was encouraged to become concert pianist by local piano player Antoine Lecomte. She was admitted to the Institute of Fine arts of the University of Colima. and is currently completing her fourth semester toward a Bachelor of Music as a concert pianist with Dr. Anatoli Zatin. Even while attending master classes with various Russian teachers, Adriana soloed to much acclaim with the Institute's chamber orchestra.

2. Sonata K570 in B flat major – W.A. Mozart

3. Mazurka No.2 in C sharp minor – M.M. Ponce
Intermission (15-20 minutes)
Piano y Guitarra:
1. Estrellita – M.M. Ponce
2. Concierto de Aranjuez II – Adagio – Joaquín Rodrigo
3. Sonata in F major HWV 370 for violin and piano – G.F. Händel (adaptation for guitar and piano)

Tickets: $200 pesos (booked in advance and on sale now), or $250 pesos at the door.
The Raintree Vacation Club (Club Regina) will be providing a cash bar at the Concert venue. Their Club's El Palmar Restaurant, located next to the Concert venue, will offer a 15% discount on dinners before and after the event on presenting concert tickets. The Club's parking area will be also be made available to all concert goers.
