2010 a Scary Year in Mexican Numerology

January 18, 2010

Canadians already sunning themselves in Puerto Vallarta and those preparing to escape the upcoming slush fest in Vancouver at some other Mexican resort should perhaps take note of the dire warnings bubbling in the local media.

Mexicans can be as superstitious about numbers as many other cultures around the Pacific Rim.

In Mexican numerology, the number 10 is very scary … and we are now into year 2010.

The reason is that two of Mexico's major revolutions started in 1810 and 1910.

The media, politicians, trade unionists and even Catholic bishops are predicting that this will be the year in which Mexicans rise up against the country's huge income disparities and stagnant economy.
