Pancho Villa Beach Club Reopens

February 19, 2010

PV Beach Club is located on the beach at Paraguay #1290 next to the Buenaventura Hotel near downtown Puerto Vallarta. For more information, visit pvbeachclub.com.
Pancho Villa Beach Club, one of Puerto Vallarta's favorite beachfront watering spots for locals and tourists for the past several years, recently celebrated their reopening after a fire and floods caused extensive damage to the building last month.

Everyone was devastated when they found out about the fire. "We were without a home" said one patron. "This place is like our home away from home while visiting Puerto Vallarta, we feel like we are family whenever we stop by for a drink," another said. "The beach, the people, the sunset, it is the best beach bar in Puerto Vallarta," said James Hale, a part time local resident and customer.

It is no wonder that Pancho Villa Beach Club has such a large local following of customers. Not only does it sit in front of the only 6 star beach in Puerto Vallarta, but they also offer free Internet usage and free International phone calls.

Not to mention Yoga Classes on the beach on Tuesday and Thursday at 6:15, Poker every Tuesday night at 8 pm, Talvia on Wednesdays at 6:00 pm and Karaoke every Friday night, which is always Party night and great fun! They offer reasonable priced drinks and a nice menu of bar foods and snacks including one of the best hamburgers in town, as well as Fried Shrimp and Ceviche for only $10 pesos.

They also have a members lounge area upstairs with large flat screen TVs, private computers, and the best view of the bay for PV Beach member customers. Membership Cards sell for $100 pesos and are good for one year and also give 10% off your bill each time you visit.

This particular night was a celebration of the reopening with a ribbon cutting by owner Ken Fanning from Alaska. Ken opened PV Beach club about 3 years ago with a goal of being the friendliest little beach bar in Puerto Vallarta, which it seems he has accomplished.

Ken also owns a hunting and fishing lodge in Yakutat, Alaska, which is run by his son. Ken spends 8 months in Puerto Vallarta and 4 months at his lodge in Alaska. He started out splitting his time between the two locations, but the magic of Puerto Vallarta has won his heart so now he spends most of his time here in the warmth of PV.

Throughout the celebration evening there were plenty of festivities including the Aztec dancers and the Fire Dancers, who both put on spectacular shows on the beach. This was followed up with a champagne toast by all and then party, party, party.

Karaoke kept the party hopping, and let's not forget about dancing and the Conga line that made its way through the bar and on to the beach. Visitors from the US, Canada, the UK, and Mexico were partying the night away having a grand time. Although this was a special night it really is no different than any night at the Pancho Villa Beach Club. Where good times and good people come together.
