3rd Vallarta Ecological Festival 2010 Saturday, March 13 2010

March 09, 2010

Come out to La Huerta Restaurant in Paso Ancho on Saturday, March 13th from 12 pm to 12 am for the 3rd Annual Vallarta Ecological Festival - a fun-filled day of music, education, culture and art with the aim of identifying ecological problems and bringing them to the attention of city officials.

Vallarta Verde is inviting one and all to come celebrate with all the Green volunteers in a big open space on the banks of Rio Cuale, where you will be entertained to your heart's delight while learning about the initiatives our local green business and environmental groups are promoting to keep Vallarta a healthy place to live.

Imagine all the people, living life in peace.
- J. Lennon

Imagine... an abundance of healthy affordable food and drink, clowns and magicians, art and a choir of school kids singing (what better way to remind us of all the beautiful things we have to be grateful for all around us that need our attention, respect, adoration and protection.)

Believe... Your new friends meeting your old ones who promote reforestation, Wildlife protection or some other hands-on grass roots support system from one of theses universally beneficial originations. In attendance will be spoke persons to share ideas and give demonstrations from all the good people at Grupo Ecologico de Puerto Vallarta, Nuestra Terra, Exito Ambiental and the Sociedad Ecologica de Occidente, to name a few.

Imagine... You may be swimming or sunning when the first of a dozen musical venues begin playing for free. Starting it all off is co-founder Joe King Carrasco and his band at noon, followed by Paco Barajas, The Texas Embassy Band, Los Frixoleros, Benediktron, Taz Duo, Azul, Katmandu, The Breze Big Band, Los Bambinos, Los Chuyz, and finishing it up, Subenir from Guadalajara. Your cooperation is appreciated, and dancing always encouraged.

Imagine... Finishing off a fabulous meal from the wonderful people at La Huerta Restaurant, whom once again donated their naturally spectacular grounds for the festival. Or this year, trying some of the local fare like tacos, desserts and sandwiches and such.

Believe... That you will take that lovely stroll up the Rivera del Rio, approx. 2 km. and leave your car at home and take advantage of the 2 free Canopy Tour vehicles running back and forth all day and night from the Cardenas bridge at Coloso.

Imagine... Winning just what you really wanted in one of the raffles or the excitement you'll feel in finding out that yours was the highest bid in the silent auction for paintings by many artists like Judith Ewing Morlan and Brewster Brockman, Cassandra Shaw Jewelry and the many other items that continue to be donated. (If you would like to donate to this worthy cause, please visit greenvallarta.blogspot.com for information.)

Believe... That by attending this event you will be a bit smarter, healthier, in tune with nature, exercised, refreshed and relaxed, and that your contribution will make a difference for so many here and beyond our beloved bay, and that next year our new friends will have even more reason to be celebrating with us at the 4th Annual Vallarta Verde Eco Festival.

The 3rd Vallarta Verde Eco-Fiesta is set for March 13th at La Huerta Restaurant in Paso Ancho. There is no admission fee; the fiesta will begin at noon and last till midnight. Join us!
