On March 3, Puerto Vallarta and Banderas Bay municipal authorities and members of the local tourist industry gathered together on the pool terrace at the Garza Blanca Preserve Oceanfront Resort & Spa for the Gala Vallarta 2010 inauguration cocktail.

Hoteliers, wholesalers, national and foreign tour operators were given a warm welcome by Puerto Vallarta and Riviera Nayarit Convention & Visitors Bureau representatives, Lic. Gabriel Igartúa Sánchez and Lic. Salvador González Resendiz, who thanked everyone for their participation and wished them all success in their negotiations.

Later, while enjoying fantastic food, guests were treated to incredible views of Banderas Bay, which served as the stage for a spectacular show and fireworks presented by the Captains and crews of the Marigalante and Perla Negra pirate ships.

Gala Vallarta 2010 was the 18th edition of this annual tourism industry trade show, where national and international wholesalers and tour operators meet with local hoteliers to explore business opportunities thru pre-established appointments.

This year's event took place on March 4th and 5th at the Paradise Village Convention Center, where 54 Puerto Vallarta and Riviera Nayarit hoteliers held over two thousand business appointments with more than 69 national and international wholesalers that sell both destination to tourists.

Closing ceremonies were held at the luxurious new Marival Residences, giving tour operators the opportunity to experience one of the newest resorts in Riviera Nayarit.
