1st Biking for Vallarta Night Ride Report
email this pageprint this pageemail usRoberto Angel P. Zepeda & Fabiola López Polo - mundoceiba.com
May 20, 2010

If you are interested in participating or supporting Mundo Ceiba's movement in any way, please contact Roberto Lopez or Fabiola Zepeda at mundoceiba(at)gmail.com.
On May 15th, the first Paseo Nocturno en Bici por Vallarta, (Biking for Vallarta Night Ride) took place on the streets of Puerto Vallarta. Dozens of cyclists departed from El Parque Lineal del Pitillal, and pedaled their way down to la Plaza de la Hermandad in El Centro for a free concert by the Guadalajara Youth Symphony Orchestra, then rode back to the park after dark.

We would like to thank all of our friends and colleagues for their support and participation in Mundo Ceiba's movement, which seeks to promote cycling as a global form of mobility.

The "Biking for Vallarta" program goes beyond promoting the sport and its multiple benefits ecological, physical, recreational, etc.) - it is an exercise to incorporate biking as a clean mode of transportation in the urban motorized context, allowing cyclists to move quietly and quickly through our city streets with respect as a basis for staying on the right track.

Stay tuned for information on future Bici por Vallarta bike rides, which will take place on the second weekend of each month. We welcome your comments and suggestions WITH solutions, because that is how we all grow and evolve as a community. It is through actions like this that we can find viable solutions to major problems in our city.

Once again, thank you very much to all media that have given voice to the movement, and to the Puerto Vallarta Municipal Transit units for their timely and valuable support.
