August 02, 2010

On Sunday, August 8, 2010 at 12 noon, Via Cultural will present a final summer music Gala concert of the Guadalajara Youth Symphony Orchestra - and its sure to please one and all and of all ages!

A total of 90 musicians from youth orchestras across the land, Guadalajara, Mexico City, Morelia... under the able batuta of the 20-year old Principal Conductor Juan Franco and the Assistant Conductor and arranger, Miguel Almaguer, will perform onstage at the new Teatro Vallarta your all-time movie soundtrack favourites, enough to bring the house down.

Visual effects will enhance this musical production starting with - what else - the trumpets of Alfred Newman's 20th Century Fox Fanfare to be followed by James Horner's Titanic Suite, John Williams' Imperial March ("Darth Vader's Theme") a rousing anthem of the 'Star Wars' generation.

The list of these beloved themes continue with his Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone theme, Leonard Bernstein's inter-ethnic West Side Story ("Amor sin Barreras"), Andrew Lloyd Webber's introspective Symphonic Reflections and dramatic Phantom of the Opera, to conclude with the enigmatic theme of Hans Zimmer's Pirates of the Carribean: At World's End.

Via Cultural and its organisers wish to express their sincere thanks again for the your strong and warm support throughout this summer's musical events.

Tickets are only $100 pesos for adults and $50 pesos for children - and can be purchased at the Villa Premiere Hotel or at the Theater.
