September 27, 2010

Biblioteca Los Mangos is located at Av. Francisco Villa 1001, Col Versalles, Puerto Vallarta. Come on out on Saturday, October 16th at 11 am and help us make it more beautiful!
Puerto Vallarta Garden Club in coordination with Los Mangos Library will host a planting at the Library on Saturday, October 16, 2010 at 11 am.

Dig It! Help plant our complimentary bougainvilleas in memory of a loved one or just for fun! All volunteers, new members and donations are welcome. PEACE will provide additional manpower to dig holes and plant around the Library for added beauty. Xocodiva will provide refreshments and music, and water will be available. Bring tools, such as hole diggers, shovels, forked spades and gardening gloves if you can.

Color your world, as Bob Price, director of the lush Vallarta Botanical Gardens, will share valuable info on how the city generously offers its valued citizens trees and flowers to the Garden Club to brighten Vallarta at no cost. You just do the dirty work!

Chairman Gary Beck will relate his tales of the Victory Gardens that united neighbors and saved endless lives in the lean war-torn days of Hitler and Churchill. Compare notes with green thumb enthusiasts as you trade planting tips and place your own personal touch on our surroundings.

Remember grandma’s old adage "You’ll always stay strong keeping one's hands in the dirt." And bring your hoe if’n you have one!

Mary, Mary, quite contrary, how does your garden grow? Don’t miss it!

For additional information, to volunteer or to donate, contact Puerto Vallarta Garden Club Chairman and co-founder, Gary R. Beck at garyrbeck1(at)yahoo.com, Vallarta Botanical Gardens Curator and Garden Club co-founder, Bob Price at bobinpvmex(at)yahoo.com.

Puerto Vallarta Garden Club is a not-for-profit organization striving to improve and beautify Vallarta through planting trees and flowers in public areas. New members are always invited and donations are welcome. Spanish discussions are being pursued. Anyone bilingual is being sought.
