Lorena Ochoa, Mexico's most prominent golfer.

Riviera Nayarit is one the most important destinations for golf tourism in Mexico.
Lorena Ochoa, Mexico's most prominent golfer, was the first one to step on the greens of El Tigre Golf & Country Club at Paradise Village in Riviera Nayarit on September 22 and 23. Her participation in the IV Aeromexico Golf Tournament will help promote the image of Riviera Nayarit as one the most important destinations for golf tourism in Mexico.

A series of competitions will follow, which will likewise promote Riviera Nayarit through an intense advertising campaign on the national media. These are the result of the independent work being done by the corporation headed by Graziano Sovernigo, which will undoubtedly place Riviera Nayarit in the spotlight by the end of 2010.

El Tigre Golf & Country Club will begin an intense marketing activity only a few days after Lorena Ochoa's visit by hosting the MVS Radio Tournament, which will be played in a Couples Best Ball format and will offer the winners a ticket to the MVS Golf Tour final, with all expenses paid, amongst other exciting prizes.

The MVS Radio Tournament is being promoted intensively by the MVS network and by other media networks throughout the country, which guarantees a nationwide coverage during the event, and is becoming an important promotional asset for our destination.

Five days later, on October 1st, El Tigre will host the Pullmantur Maritime Golf Cup, which will be organized and covered by two other media groups that focus on the golf market: Infogolf and Golf Channel Mexico. Local golfers will be able to participate in this tournament, which offers prizes for the hole-in-one, closest to the pin, and trophies for the winners.

The Negra Modelo Professional Tour, presented by Riviera Nayarit, will arrive at our destination with a tournament that will be played on October 7 - 10, assembling 78 Mexican golf professionals and offering $675,000 pesos in prizes.

The Pro Am Telcel Blackberry Tournament has promoted our destination in all the different parts of the country where it's been played, and Riviera Nayarit will host a game later this year. The tournament is played in teams made up of one professional and three amateurs, with prizes to the closest to the pin, and an invitation for the winning team to the grand final, which will take place next November at the Tres Vidas Golf Course in Acapulco.

It's important to mention that the promotional efforts put forward towards Riviera Nayarit during the Negra Modelo Profesional Tour 2010 are part of the strategy lead by the government of Ney Gonzalez Sanchez, by means of its Secretary of Tourism, Edwin Hernandez Quintero, to make tourism a source of economic stability in this region.

The Western Senior Associate Golfers Tour (GADO by its initials in Spanish) will take place on October 29th, and the III Rotary Tournament of Puerto Vallarta has been scheduled for November 20th, while the grand final of the Imagen Tour, which is another tournament that will receive an important media coverage by this communication network association, will take place on December 3 - 5, completing the golf agenda for Riviera Nayarit in 2010.

The Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) of Riviera Nayarit wishes to congratulate Paradise Village Group and the team headed by Jesus Carmona, director of El Tigre Golf & Country Club for their effort, dedication and commitment to make Riviera Nayarit one of the most important destinations in Mexico.
