Howey-in-the-Hills, Fla. - The Gary Gilchirst Golf Academy has teamed up with golf fitness experts Body Balance for Performance to offer GGGA juniors individualized training plans to help students obtain their goals in golf faster and more completely.

Body Balance for Performance is led by David Ostrow, a renowned physical therapist for more than 22 years. Ostrow is considered by many to be an expert in the golf fitness industry and has spent his career developing a well-defined and effective approach for restoring the body to full function.

What made the partnership a perfect fit to Ostrow was how he and Gary Gilchirst share similar philosophies in teaching.

"Gary's mission of helping students is my main attraction to his academy," Ostrow said. "It seems to me that if we always keep the student's needs in the front of our minds and then do everything in our power to meet those needs. We can affect the lives of these young people for the rest of their lives in ways never considered possible before."

The Body Balance program will employ flexibility, stability, functional movement, strength, speed, endurance, and 3-D integrative exercises. Each type of exercise is designed to improve a specific area that is identified during a student's assessment.

Students will participate in several different types of exercise circuits. They work in pairs in the circuits and the pairs are based on physical assessment results, and the standards of Long Term Athletic Development.

"To me, the biggest thing in golf is preparation, which is the set up," Gilchrist said. "When the body is healthy, it's aligned and in balance, which makes it much easier to set up to your putting, your chipping and your full swing. Having that helps you produce the right movements and produce the right results."

Based at the Mission Inn Resort & Club, 40 minutes outside of Orlando, Fla., the Gary Gilchrist Golf Academy is the leading full-time junior golf academy in the world. The Academy is committed to excellence in every facet of golf, fitness, personal development and academics, evident through exclusive relationships with Montverde Academy, an acclaimed private college preparatory school, leading behavioral scientist Dr. Bill Meyer and the American Junior Golf Association.

As part of our AJGA relationship, the academy is the official title sponsor of the Gary Gilchrist Golf Academy Junior All-Star Series, an AJGA tournament series reserved for the world's top 12-15 year-old golfers.
