For more information on the FedEx Express-Overseas Vote Foundation Express Your Vote Initiative visit OverSeasVoteFoundation.org.
FedEx Express, a subsidiary of FedEx Corp. and the world’s largest express transportation company, recently announced its renewed support of Express Your Vote, an initiative of the Overseas Vote Foundation (OVF), a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization dedicated to helping overseas Americans effectively participate in the federal electoral process. FedEx Express and OVF launched for the first time the successful Express Your Vote program in 2008 for the Presidential Election.

With FedEx again supporting this initiative, Americans living abroad in 94 countries will be able to reliably return their voted overseas absentee ballots to their U.S. election offices using discounted express delivery services until October 26 (most countries) for the 2010 US Congressional midterm election on November 2, 2010.

Specific discounted rates, participating countries and access points are outlined on the OVF website.

There are approximately six million Americans living overseas; the federal government grants these citizens the right to vote in federal elections but overseas voters often report trouble returning their voted ballots. Statistics from the U.S. Election Assistance Commission indicate that the primary reason (42.3%) for ballots to not be counted was due to their late return.

Created in 2008, the innovative Express Your Vote program provides American voters abroad the convenience of online shipping, tracking and tracing capabilities, and proactive proof of delivery through the OVF Web site, which has been upgraded with the latest advanced automation solutions from FedEx.

"As millions of Americans overseas rush to meet ballot return deadlines, we want to help make sure their votes arrive in time to be counted," said Rajesh Subramaniam, senior vice president, International Marketing, FedEx Services.

"Following the first success of the Express Your Vote initiative during the 2008 Presidential election, together, FedEx and Overseas Vote Foundation are renewing our offer to assist Americans abroad with a reliable and fast method to return their ballots in 2010."

"Overseas Vote Foundation is delighted to be working with FedEx Express again to bring Express Your Vote to U.S. overseas absentee voters in 94 countries," said Susan Dzieduszycka-Suinat, president and CEO of Overseas Vote Foundation.

"This initiative will bring tremendous value to overseas voters who need access to the outstanding network and services of FedEx Express. Voters receive automatic confirmation that the ballot has been delivered to their election office. All combined, the value of Express Your Vote to overseas voters is unique."
