Over the last few weeks, the Puerto Vallarta municipal government has been negotiating with the Ministry of Communications and Transportation and other authorities to ensure that the north-bound bridge over the Rio Ameca, which collapsed during heavy rains on August 31, will be rebuilt as soon as possible.

The series of meetings between Puerto Vallarta Mayor Salvador Gonzalez Resendiz and Communications and Transportation Directors seem to have paid off, as work to reconstruct the bridge that connects Puerto Vallarta and Riviera Nayarit is now underway, and the bridge is expected to be completed before the upcoming 2011 Easter holidays.
