The man accused of being Mexico's 'King of Heroin' says the charges against him are 'lies.' (KABC)
Ventura, Calif. - The man accused of being Mexico's "King of Heroin" says the charges against him are "lies."

Jose Antonio Medina Arreguin, 36, was arrested in Mexico earlier this year and then extradited to Ventura County.

It was there that he pleaded not guilty to a California drug smuggling charge.

Prosecutors allege Arreguin was the leader of an elaborate, multimillion dollar smuggling operation.

But he told the Ventura County Star those allegations are "lies," and says he is an innocent lemon farmer.

Arreguin will be back in court in December.
