Irvine, California – Mazda has celebrated its fifth anniversary in Mexico, along with the grand opening of the new national headquarters of Mazda Motor de Mexico in Santa Fe, on the outskirts of Mexico City.

The company began operations on October 6, 2005 with only five dealerships, selling the Mazda3 sedan and hatchback, Mazda5 and Mazda6. Today, the company also sells the MX-5, CX-7 and CX-9.

Mazda now has 31 dealerships and is the eighth-largest out of 40 brands in Mexico, with a 3.1 per cent market share. Cumulatively, it has sold more than 83,000 vehicles.
