(Presidencia de la República)
Hidalgo, Michoacán - During his tour of Michoacán, President Felipe Calderón inaugurated the General Hospital in Ciudad Hidalgo.

He declared that during the four years of his administration, hospitals have been built in the most disadvantaged areas.

He explained that health spending will increase to 106 billion pesos in 2011 and that in just 4 years, the health budget has doubled for the benefit of all Mexicans.

The General Hospital comprises 30 permanent beds and four basic specialties. Work was begun on the hospital in February 2002 with municipal resources, continued with resources from the PROCEDES in 2005 and completed with PEF resources in 2007 and 2009, with an accumulated investment of $68,833,604 pesos for the benefit of 128,752 inhabitants. In PEF 2011, funds totaling 35 million pesos have been requested for operating expenses.
